Thankful

Dearest Jackson & Colton,

We all flew back to Indiana and spent a week there celebrating Thanksgiving.  You boys stayed up late, played with cousins, and snacked on treats that are normally off-limits.  It was a whirlwind of a week and it was a true reminder of things we're thankful for...

Family who will wait outside in the cold just so we can see Santa light up

Games with cousins

A Grandpa who will share his favorite chair

Baby Girl Jelly Bean

Swinging at the park

A fridge full of magnets perfect for rearranging

Boxes just your size

Piano concerts in the buff

Gingerbread decorating

Bike riding

The upstairs toy basket

Friends who will make the 2 hour drive

Indoor pools on chilly days

Grandma's help

Hockey Games

(Which you loved, by the way!)

and Daddy's shoulder on the flight home.

It's overwhelming just trying to thank God for all His blessings - and that is a fabulous "problem" to have!  But more than any other earthly gift, I am thankful for our family.  I love you boys to the moon and back!

15 months

Dearest Colton & Jackson,

We've been keeping it low-key around here for the last few days and I've taken just a few pictures here and there...but I've taken them in "auto" and did zero editing to them so...

Jax, you pick the same books night after night but reading with you is still one of our favorite things!

We play outside every evening when we get home from school.  The other day was chilly but you boys still headed outside and had little regard for the dropping temperatures so I joined you with the camera.

During our time outside I documented two things:  1) your lovely bruise where you stopped your fall with your forehead and 2) your drool soaked sweater courtesy of the two molars you're growing!

You got a case of the stomach yuckies so we both stayed home from school today.  You don't look sick to me - just handsome  : )

As irony would have it, we took you for your 15 month well-visit today.  You weighed in at 27 lbs!!!  Jax, you were 23 lbs at this age...not that we're comparing or anything...

J, you told us "I'm afraid of this." about 92 times and you preferred playing in the waiting room.
(I'm seriously concerned as to how you'll handle your own well-exam in a few months!)

Life is so good, boys....even with the stomach bug.  We've slowed down....and we're just taking it all in.  Awesome!
