October

Dearest Elvis & T-Rex Tamer,

October is always busy and this year was no different.

There was batting practice.

And a neighborhood block party.

And baseball games with Dad as a coach.

And soccer games where you kick right through the defender's legs : )

And a surprise lunch date at school because I took a half-day for an appointment.

And a trip to the State Fair with Grandma.

And a fun musical hosted by 3rd graders.

And some dancing in the rain.

And yummy treats.

And turtle sitting for your science teacher.

And silliness in the dugout.

And Halloween costumes for Gracie.

And the Monster Mile as Elvis.

And a phenomenal play that garnered high fives from every coach.

And a team lunch.

And a runner up finish.

And sweet baseball moments captured thanks to Laura.

And Grandpa's birthday.

And pumpkin carving.

And trick-or-treating with friends.

Whew!  I'm tired just remembering it all!

September

Dear Jax & Colt,

I can tell that getting back our regular schedule kicked my behind because I took very few pictures this month.

The month started with the Marauder run.  This is a fun event where our high school lets all the 5th graders from our feeder pattern take the field with the football players.  Bridlewood had a great turn out.  Here is just a small section of your group.

We stayed to watch the game but you and your friends spent most of the night running around socializing and you seemed way too old that night.

Soccer games went back to being an every weekend occurrence.

But we still squeezed in time for Family Game Night!

Colt, sometime over the summer you got the idea that you wanted to try lacrosse.  We showed up to the first practice knowing literally nothing about this sport!

And one night a rainbow greeted us when I dropped you off at soccer practice.

On top of lacrosse and scouts, you also had baseball games, Colt.  The small from you earning the game ball melts my heart!!!

I think soccer photographers should get special stipends.

Your first lacrosse game was in an arena on concrete!  Since we didn't know anything, we thought this was normal - and were honestly a little concerned.  Seemed like a recipe for pain but you made it!

So we celebrated with italian ice!

Hard to tell but we were all rocking the soccer gear for the last game in September.

Here comes fall, y'all!

August

Dearest Jackson and Colt,

August always starts with a bang as we celebrate birthdays right away!  For your 8th birthday, Colt, you wanted to party at Top Golf.

Not long after, we had Meet the Teacher.  Colt, you got the teacher you wanted, Mrs. Neudeck, and were happy to show off her unique classroom - including this pink bathtub!

Our back-to-school triple date was as bitter sweet as always.  Going back to school?  Meh.  Going out with besties? Yay!!

This group photo is such a better representation of us ; )

We sent the sitter home and asked you kids to get together for a late night group pic.

Then we imitated y'all!  HA!

Not a great shot but just here to show that soccer was still alive and well.

And then it was time to set alarms.  Again, I am so so thankful that Dad is always home on this day and gets these pictures while I'm away at work.

It didn't take long for 5th grade homework to rear its ugly head.

All the other pictures on my phone were of my own classes so I'll keep those off the blog.
That's an official wrap on the shortest summer ever!
