Week 25/52 (Summer, Week 3)

Dearest Colt & Jax,

Week 3 started out on an exceptionally high note when we were greeted with this yard sign:

It also brought another baseball tournament -- this one on our home fields.

Maybe it was the hot temps, but y'all didn't fare so well during pool play and ended up in the Silver bracket.  But you went on the win that bracket and that was a fun way for the dads to celebrate Father's Day!

We took a short break from baseball to host a swim meet.  Your relay team consisted of some of your closest buddies from school and y'all dominated the medley relay!

You won your heat!!!

(Before launching in to backstroke)

I think sitting around, eating snacks, and playing games with friends is your favorite part of swim team : )

Baseball continued in the form of Marcus Baseball Camp.

And swim practices got creative when they put rubber ducks on your forehead to help with backstroke.

It's like we're having our very own Summer Olympics right here!

Week 24/52 (Summer, Week 2)

Dearest Jackson and Colton,

Week 2 in 22 words or less..

There were poolside treats after swim team practice:

There were baseball games (2 wins and 1 loss) before the whole tourney got cancelled due to bad weather:

There was a poorly photographed swim meet...
but there were these ribbons waiting for you at practice the following morning:

There were friends to play with in the pool:

There were many hours spent watching Lego videos online as you built right along with them:

There was a Moms Night Out to a tattoo parlor (!!!):

There was an afternoon spent at Hawaiian Falls:

And there were hairs cut!

If you couldn't tell, there were lots of smiles!!

Week 23/52 (Summer, Week 1)

Dearest Jackson and Colt,

We wasted no time at all starting our summer break and everything was fast and furious during our first week of heaven.

Day 1 meant swim practice moved from afternoons (4:00-5:15) to mornings (8:45-10:00).  And, since it was a Friday, you were rewarded with ice cream thanks to your coaches.

There was supposed to be a baseball tournament that weekend but our area got a ton of rain, which delayed the tourney and kept us inside.  Y'all didn't mind because we busted out your very favorite board game.

Thankfully, the skies were clear come Monday...so y'all headed to soccer camp.

Later that day your swim team held their mock meet (the meet only for our swimmers where you're timed to figure out your seed times for upcoming meets).

Afterward, all the swimmers jumped in and had an impromptu pool party!

We couldn't stay all night though because you had a baseball game that had been rescheduled from the weekend.  Your team played at Grapevine's gorgeous fields and you WON!

Tuesday it was back to soccer camp...but I only took mental pictures ;)
That afternoon we met up with Coach Halle for some private lessons to make up for what you missed by being away at soccer camp.

You had another baseball game that night and y'all won again!

No photographs were taken on Wednesday...not from soccer camp, not from your orthodontist appointment, not from your swim lessons with Coach Halle, and none from us laying around doing nothing all night as we celebrated a night off due to y'all being seeded FIRST in the tourney!

Thursday was the final day of soccer camp and you were instructed to wear your camp shirts.  I had to snap a quick pick since you were twinning!

The soccer coach had the same idea and he grabbed a few pics himself and I borrowed them from his Twitter account.

We were back at the baseball fields that night to figure out a winner for this tournament.

Y'all fought so hard!  And you won your first two games that evening.  But, in the championship game, you missed the first place trophy by 2 runs and ended up taking second place.  There were 16 teams that competed in your division so we were thrilled, to say the least!

Week 22/52

Dearest Colton and Jackson,

There were moments when I thought Week 22 would never come.  But it did.  And it was good!  And we all said AMEN!

Your final week as a kindergartner and a 2nd grader started with our "annual" (except for last year when the weather would not cooperate!) Memorial Day dip -- on the day before Memorial Day.

We all stayed home on Memorial Day and played games that matched our giddy moods.

We went to school for two-and-a-half days on that last week and we could barely hold it together for that!

We made it!  Colt, you rocked your first year of pubic education.  Jax, you enjoyed your third year in school.  And I earned my 10 year badge of honor alongside one of the best classes I've ever had!

Week 21/52

Dearest Boys,

The last full week of May ranks up there as one of my favorites.  It's immediately followed by the month of June - undeniably one of the best months on the calendar - and it's as if Zoloft is being pumped through the air as everyone seems excited and upbeat.

We spent out last week of May wrapping up the spring baseball season.  I haven't posted much about your baseball playing, Jax, but it's been happening - often!  Your team, Flower Mound Premier, played in an All-Star league this spring and you performed really well for being a newly formed team.  My phone despises action shots so I just mooched photos off of various social media outlets:

The little brothers are a big part of the team's awesomeness :)

90% of the season you played 1st base

Tennis also wrapped up this week!

And I got to chaperone another field trip!!!  Colt, we went to Legoland and had so much fun together!

(We got there early so we had to entertain ourselves for a bit!)

Riding the "Dumbo Knock Off" ride before we lifted up and you freaked out :)

Happy, happy, joy, joy...
