January's other happenings

Dearest Jackson and Colton,

When y'all weren't trying hockey, we got to fit in a few other things during your break from regular sports.

The weather was so gorgeous that we fit in a few tennis games!

We had time to play with Grandma too!

Your soccer team missed each other so much during the short break that they still got together for fun.

BES's 3rd grade boys took advantage of the nice weather by heading to Top Golf.

It was a perfectly laid-back month that helped us get ready for all the fun that was to come...

Hockey

Dearest Boys,

The Dallas Stars offer an awesome, FREE, hockey program for kids in our area.  For four weeks they let kids try hockey and teach them the basics of the sport.  January was the perfect month for this trial as baseball was on a break and soccer games hadn't started yet for the spring season.  You two were both excited to give it a try -- but you also had some nervousness about trying something so different.

After each session, they allowed family members to join y'all on the ice for open skate.  You were still needing a lot of help from the wall that first week.

We saw SO much improvement from both of you and it wasn't long before the walls weren't needed anymore!

One week they used soccer balls to help you work on coordination.  Y'all had a BLAST!!!

Retired goalie, Marty Turco, was the one who presented you with your certificates at the "graduation ceremony".

I love the opportunities available from living in this metroplex!
