Growing & Changing

Dearest Boys,

The first 6 months of 2022 were packed with growth and change!!

Things started with the New Years Day party...not sure why only the moms are pictured....I promise y'all were there too!

Jax, you played futsal (outdoors) in Dallas.  Colt, we cuddled through the cold games!

Jax, you also had 8th grade basketball.

Dad & I got to attend the wedding of one of our former youth group members.

Girls Night shows how cold it got!

And we even got snow!!

Sweatshirts were needed for baseball!

Valentine's Day was low-key with heart shaped pizza.

The weather warmed up and your school had a Color Run.  (Colt, no pics of you as you were home sick!)

The district UIL competition had you competing in Chess, Number Sense, and Math Skills.

Jax, you volunteered with our church and I found this silly picture on their social media.

We didn't travel for Spring Break so I had a girls day instead!

We also spent some time at one of your favorites, Top Golf!

Colt, you did some extra practice with Coach.

And one of you did a little rock climbing.

Spring Break wrapped up with a promotion dinner!  Dad rocks!!

When we got back to school, it was time for another sport - Track!

Dad & I got away at the beginning of April.  We headed to Vegas to watch Mike & Melissa get hitched.  They had a welcome party for their guests on the first night.

Their ceremony was outdoors in the dessert!

And then we celebrated in their friends' beautiful backyard.

Dad and I stayed a few extra days to enjoy the town since it was also our anniversary!

The Beatles show was one of my favorites I've ever seen!

I had to return to real life though to support the Lewisville Education Foundation at their charity bowling event.

My team chatted it up with our superintendent!

I had to document this random shopping trip as your goofy side made the trip more entertaining!

The weather turned gorgeous for some Spring baseball.

And I cracked up during school pick up the day that your Skills for Living class got their "flour babies" - you boys were already taking such good care of them!

Grandma did a great job of spoiling you two for Easter!

So y'all paid her back by posing real quick in some bluebonnets!

And then it was time for middle school soccer!

Seeing you 3 play together again was fun since it had been a few years!

Colt, your 6th grade class took a field trip to go indoor skydiving!

Jax, on the morning of your 14th birthday, you picked Starbucks for your special breakfast.

Grandpa and Grandma kept the treats going at their house later!

A few days later, we celebrated you with a few friends at Top Golf.

Colt, you celebrated your friend, Logan, with some archery.

Middle school starting wrapping up with an 8th Grade Dance.  Instead of being formal, like in years past, it was a luau theme.

Colt, you played your last game with your sweet soccer team.  Just like we did with your brother, we asked you to only play 1 sport in 7th grade.  You picked baseball.  You weren't the only one leaving - your whole team was dissolving so the timing was perfect!

You were such a fun goalie to watch!

You gifted us with a quick pic for Mother's Day 😍

And I had to document these work friends during Teacher Appreciation Week as we only had a few days left with each other!

Dougy Doug earned his Masters and hosted his biggest supporters to celebrate the accomplishment!

8th graders took their final middle school field trip!

End of the year Awards Ceremonies were a success!

Colt, you were chosen as Honors World History Student of the Year!

You were also acknowledged for All A Honor Roll!

Jackson, you were awarded with 5 Star Athlete (for playing all 5 sports!).

You were also acknowledged for Honor Roll!

My STARS got together to kick off summer break with a girls brunch and cookie decorating!

And then summer really kicked off with summer camp!  It was time to go back to Pine Cove!

Jax, you'd been looking forward to this trip since last summer!

Colt, you wanted your own fun while Jax was away.  You picked Andretti's indoor carting.

After carting, you were also into playing this crazy virtual game.

I continued stalking the camp app for more pictures of you, Jax!

You told us story after story on the ride home - and then zonked out!

And I found out that you spent your week away growing - I noticed you inching past me at your next soccer game and I had to document the event!

Us gals lamented over our babies growing up but we kept smiling because - SUMMER!

A little later, us gals got "permanent" bracelets attached to our wrists!

And then it was your turn, Colton!!
After hearing about your brother's fun, you were ready to give it a shot!  You and Conner went together and I got to spend another week stalking the camp app for pics!

While you were away, we went to the Gaylord to support Kate at her dance convention.

Jax, your version of "support" wasn't rough.

I then got to meet the newest Lazkani!  Baby Cece was simply adorable!

I wish we could slow down all this growing and changing!
