Deck the halls and bake the cookies ~ falalalalalalala

Dear Jackson & Colton,

Your mom is falling down on the jobs of photographer and blogger.  The month of December is always so much fun and I usually remain "camera- ready" all month.  But we've had some rainy weather put a damper on a few of our traditions and my camera (or just the camera knowledge) seems to be missing when we do get around to our traditional fun.  So this will be a lazy catch up of the past 2 weeks...

We decorated the house - but only bits and pieces as the main storage bin(s?) that hold(s?) our decorations is missing.  It's in the storage unit...somewhere...on the bottom.  While that may sound like a poor packing job on our part, our excuse is that we really didn't think we'd be in this house this Christmas.  I'm still holding out hope for next Christmas - in which, we will have each and every container out of storage and our house will be a mini-wonderland ; )  While we had no problem locating and putting up this Christmas tree, I totally struggled with taking a picture of you boys in front of it.  It isn't obvious in this dark, blurry, photo - but you boys both love the tree!

Colt, you admire it each time it turns on as you watch some of the ornaments come to life

Jax, you've been known to give me a concert or two with the tree as your backup : )

We drove to the Texas Motor Speedway one night and took a drive under the stands and around the outside of the track to "oooo" and "ahhhh" at the over 1 million LEDs.  Dad's camera phone captured these high-quality memories for us that night:

We also went to the Gaylord Resort to take in their "Shrek the Halls ICE" displays.  Artists took an entire month and 2 million pounds of ice to create this cold adventure.  They kept the temperature at 9 degrees so we were thrilled that we got to borrow these flattering jackets for our tour:

You boys were really quite adorable in your oversized parkas.

Your favorite part was these ice slides.

My favorite part was that, despite being Shrek themed, they still included the real reason for the season!

The rainy weather *forced* us to do some baking.  Before we knew it, we had 100 chocolate chip cookies on our kitchen's island!  I took some to school and we shared some with a few different dinner guests -- but the rest are gone already!  You boys know how to put away some cookies!!

We should have known when you could hardly wait for them to come out of the oven!

With only 11 days left, there are still so many fun things I want to do with y'all...
Starting with the stop-the-rain dance : )
