Florida Vacation - Day 1

Dearest Vacationers,

We just got back from the most amazing vacation ever!  We were fortunate enough to spend 3 days at a gorgeous resort in Orlando immediately followed by 3 more days at the family's house in Sarasota.  Now, that being said, the trip started off on a few wrong feet and I was worried at the beginning.  Daddy was already in Orlando for business so that meant it was just the three of us on the flight there.  Dealing with all that goes into flying with two little boys stressed this mommy out a little bit - but we made it and you two really were fabulous throughout the entire flight.

Then we landed and, instead of seeing the paradise I had hoped for in my head, it was miserable outside.  The dark skies were pouring rain and roads were packed with traffic.  To top it off, I discovered that our camera (the super-expensive-but-it-takes-gorgeous-pictures-so-it's-worth-it one) was broken!

On the bright side, Andy & Suzanne just happened to be on their own Florida vacation so we decided to get together for dinner on our first night in town.  Needless to say, we didn't get any pictures of our yummy dinner together but things did start looking up after this.

We went back to our hotel, got to know our resort a bit, and then crashed for the night.

This was your first time sharing a bed together and it definitely took some getting used to...but, once you did, I thought y'all looked so sweet there together!!

You two were up bright and early Friday morning and, since we could see most of the pool from our room's window, you boys were more than ready to go swimming!

Geckos and anoles seemed to lead/follow us everywhere we went.

The weather was now just like I'd hoped, I snapped a few pictures with my phone, and we had a blast playing in the pools.

Swimming was tiring so we all went back upstairs for lunch and naptime.

It was an exciting evening as the plan was for me to reunite with my half-sister.  We went to Universal Studio's City Walk where we met up with her and her husband at Margaritaville.  The atmosphere was perfect as us adults had the opportunity to connect and chat while you boys were in awe of the singing, dancing, stilt walkers, and erupting volcano.

After dinner, we strolled along the city walk and enjoyed each other's company.

Friday more than made up for Thursday's hiccups!
