Florida Vacation - Day 3

Dearest Boys,

Sunday was THE day.  The day that lacks appropriate adjectives.  This was the day that I subconsciously dreamed about since we watched our first Disney movie together.  We played all day at Magic Kingdom!!!  While I don't think 22 months is the ideal age to visit a park of this magnitude, I do think 4 years old is absolutely the perfect age.  So, to do a compromise of sorts, we only visited one park.  We kind of tested the waters with this one day of pure joy instead of diving in for an entire week (which I fully intend to do in 2016!).  To me, the day was perfection.  I told your dad that it was my favorite day of parenting thus far and I felt giddy for 8 straight hours.  Heck, who am I kidding?  I'm still a little teary just remembering all the fun we had!

We saw a lot of people walking to the right so we went left.  We ended up in Adventureland and Daddy took us straight to The Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  While this is one of the park's popular rides, I now think it's geared for much older audiences as it was a bit scary for a 4 year-old.  Colt, you were intrigued though!

We then rode on Aladdin's Magic Carpet.  While this ride is almost identical to the Dumbo ride, the line was much shorter and we liked this one a lot!  Jax, you sat up front and were in control of our carpet and you had us soaring up and down, up and down, up and down...

We finished up our journey in this area with a climb through The Swiss Family's Treehouse.

From there, we walked through the castle and into Fantasyland.  Prince Charming's Carousel was the first thing we saw and it was the first thing you actually requested so we went straight to it.

Next up was a 10 minute trip across the globe as we rode It's A Small World.  We spent the entire time oohhing and aahing over all the intricate details.  Jax, you were hesitant to get on another boat ride after Pirates but you quickly realized that this was much different!

We then grabbed an early lunch at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe over in Tomorrowland as we tried to outsmart the crowds.

Right outside of this restaurant was the Mad Tea Party, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.  Making even less sense, we decided to ride it next!  Hello spinning, laughing, world of nausea!

Before we could even stumble out of those cups, the second request of the day was made:

This was the longest line of the day as we waited about 20 minutes.  Luckily, there's a lot of people watching to be done in these lines so 20 minutes felt like nothing.  Colt, you rode along while Daddy drove.  Jax, I was your giggly passenger.

At this point, we were getting a little warm so, when we noticed that there was indoor entertainment, we knew just where to go!  This interactive comedy was perfect and had all 4 of us cracking up!

We then went to the Winnie the Pooh ride.  For not knowing a bit about this story, you both found the ride fun and captivating - especially in Tigger's room where the honey pot we were riding in began to "bounce" along!  While you can barely see any of the ride itself in this picture, this smile shows a lot!

After this adventure, we knew we had to take advantage of the Fast Pass.  We checked in at Buzz Lightyear's Spin and were given a pass to come back 45 minutes later.  So, instead of waiting in line with an exhausted toddler for 45 minutes, we took potty breaks, sat in the shade, ate ice cream, and watched a talking trash can.

Then it was time for BUZZ!  Colt, you were literally yelling "BUZZ!" the whole way through our very short wait in line.  Jax, you were in awe that your very favorite movie appeared to be coming to life!

Daddy rocked the laser game and had the highest score of the four of us by far!

I guess we were a bit too into it to get a good self-pic.?.

After the best ride of the day, you were allowed to pick 1 souvenir.  You picked a $12 laser gun and you can see it in your left hand here:

It was time to wrap things up so we made our way to the Walt Disney World Railroad.  Look at my adorable view as we walked along:

We hopped aboard this train to take us back to the main gate.

Once we were back at Main Street, we only had a few minutes to wait before the parade was to start.
Colton, you were so sleepy at this point that you were ready to crash anywhere!

After 7 hours of exploring, it was time to call it a day.  Instead of the ferry, we rode the monorail back to the tram.  We hadn't even driven out of the park yet when I noticed this in the backseat:

I'm counting down until we can do it again!!
