After y'all showed me that this wasn't so terrible after all, I thought it was about time that we visited our local zoo. With over 500 species of animals to see, we stayed busy!
Giraffes
You were curious as to why this lion kept sleeping despite your calling out to him. Once Daddy explained that he's a cat, just like Viper, you seemed to understand the sleep all day concept : )
They even had some life-like dinosaur models on display representing those that once lived in Texas.
Bronze statues = photo opportunities!
We reflected on the trip during an afternoon ice-cream break and we all decided that the elephants were our favorites! We were in awe as we watched this gal ease herself into the water before doing a bit of snorkeling and rolling around. She gathered quite a crowd and seemed happy to show off for everyone.
Colt, I promise that you went with us : ) But you watched most of the animals from the comforts of your stroller...
